Did you know that Colorado is home to the largest horse park west of the Mississippi? The Colorado Horse Park is a facility for those who like to participate in world class equestrian sports, but it’s also designed for those who enjoy watching and supporting those sports as well. The park is located in Parker, Colorado in Douglas County and features some of the best facilities for both amateur and professionals alike.
Facilities for Visitors
The Colorado Horse Park (CHP) accommodates over 75,000 visitors annually. These visitors are treated to a corporate office which includes a lounge and even a ballroom. There is also a shopping area, boarding facilities, turnout paddocks, and two arenas which are indoors. There is also a RV park with feed offices and a permanent tack store for visitors as well.
CHP also offers competition facilities including 13 arenas in a wide range of sizes and shapes, and there is even a Grand Prix arena that has terraced seating and VIP Pavilions available. There is also a cross-country course and Derby Field, both designed by professionals in their fields. In addition, there is a western complex that has cattle chutes and pens for all of the western events. During competition, the three permanent barns with 300 stalls can be expanded using multiple tent pads to accommodate over 1,000 horses on the property comfortably.
Colorado is also famed for its many trails through nature areas which are preserved to encourage outdoor activities. This is also true at CHP where there are hundreds of miles of open space and trails for riders to enjoy.
If you are looking for equestrian activities, the Colorado Horse Park is an excellent choice. There are many trails and riding events offered at the facility and a chance to spend time with other horse enthusiasts.
